Job Description
The Sr. Manager, Advanced Hardware Production will be an integral member of Advanced Hardware Manufacturing Operations, with responsibilities for production line management, identifying opportunities, and implementing solutions for continual improvement of the manufacturing process.
This role will collaborate on demand planning, drive production schedules, and labor/equipment efficiency. Responsibilities include selection and personnel development to ensure the efficient operation of the production function, meet design requirements, align capacity, optimize the utilization of the workforce, and minimize manufacturing costs. This position is responsible for Lean initiatives and Quality compliance.
As a Sr. Manager, Advanced Hardware Production, you will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team on an array of products supporting the sensor and compute deployment in our autonomous vehicle fleets. The successful candidate will coordinate with procurement, oversee product assembly, performance testing, and related shop floor documentation in SAP. Additionally, you will provide direct oversight of production supervisors, line leads, and technicians while working with sustaining engineering teams to align production with recent learnings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or similar
- 15+ years of experience in a serial manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a serial production manufacturing organization.
- Experience building electrical boxes or sensor assemblies
Bonus Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or similar
- Proficiency in PLM and ERP platforms
- Demonstrated knowledge of institutional problem-solving tools/processes such as cycle time reduction and process improvement tools: Six Sigma DMAIC methodology, Kaizen, Pareto charts, process mapping.
