About the Role

You’ll support attorneys by preparing discovery requests and responses, drafting litigation documents, and creating reusable legal templates. The firm needs an experienced paralegal who can take ownership of assigned documentation with minimal training and supervision. Your accuracy and organization will help attorneys access reliable case materials, stay ahead of discovery deadlines, and move cases forward. You’ll also have the opportunity to improve documentation processes, using your technical skills to make drafting and case preparation more efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare attorney-ready discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
  • Draft accurate discovery responses in coordination with attorneys, identifying missing information and supporting materials that need follow-up.
  • Produce clear, properly formatted pleadings, litigation documents, and correspondence for attorney review.
  • Build and maintain reusable legal templates that improve consistency and reduce repetitive document preparation.
  • Organize discovery materials, supporting evidence, and case files so attorneys can quickly locate the information they need.
  • Track discovery deadlines and document readiness, flagging outstanding items early to support timely case progression.
  • Use legal case management software and document management tools to keep case records, assignments, and documentation organized.
  • Anticipate attorney documentation needs, communicate progress reliably, and identify practical improvements to litigation workflows.

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • At least 2 years of U.S. civil litigation experience, including hands-on experience supporting California personal injury litigation cases.
  • A strong working understanding of California civil litigation procedures, civil discovery, and litigation workflows.
  • Proven experience drafting interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, discovery responses, and reusable legal templates.
  • Excellent written English and legal drafting skills, including accurate legal terminology and advanced Microsoft Word skills for formatting and document preparation.
  • Strong technological proficiency, including experience with legal case management software and document management tools, plus the ability to learn new systems efficiently.
  • Ability to organize large volumes of documents, manage multiple deadlines, communicate reliably, and deliver accurate work with minimal training and supervision.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience using Clio.
  • Paralegal certification or formal legal studies training. Equivalent hands-on litigation experience is welcome; a formal credential is not required.
