AI summary
As a KYC/KYB Analyst, you'll analyze high-risk customer files, collaborate with various teams to optimize compliance processes, and monitor sensitive clients to ensure compliance with regulations.
Job Description
Join us as a KYC/KYB Analyst to protect Qonto's regulated growth while keeping onboarding fast and fair for our clients. You'll review enhanced due diligence and KYBC cases, decide who can safely open or keep a Qonto account, and flag financial-crime risks the moment you spot them, all under the guidance of Guilhem, our Head of AFCC France.
➡️ What you'll do
- Decide on high-risk files: Review EDD cases for onboarding and lifecycle reviews, then approve, reject, or send them back to L1 for missing or invalid documents.
- Handle KYBC edge cases fast: Assess alternative documents and gray-activity requests, closing decisions within a 48-hour SLA when clients are blocked.
- Focus where it matters: Automation handles the routine files, so you'll concentrate your judgment on the riskiest ones during your weekly control checks.
- Cross-check the numbers: Compare declared turnover and financial documentation against real account activity to spot inconsistencies.
➡️ What we're looking for
- Fluent in French and English, including legal reading: You read bylaws, RCS extracts, and legal documentation as comfortably as any other business document, in French, and work just as easily in English.
- Risk judgment under ambiguity: You reason through gray-area cases instead of defaulting to blanket rejection or blanket approval.
- AFC/KYC/KYB fundamentals: You're curious about AFC/KYC/KYB topics and ready to learn on the job.
- Attention to detail: You catch missing documents, invalid evidence, and inconsistencies that others might miss.
- AI-native mindset: You're comfortable letting AI handle routine cases so you can focus on the ones that need real judgment.
➡️ What we can offer you
- Real autonomy, fast: Reach independent decision-making on routine files within a few months, with complex cases escalated together.
- A growing scope: As Qonto's credit products expand, you'll take on larger companies and more complex corporate structures over time.
- Structured onboarding: Shadow the team, get weekly 1:1s, and have every early decision reviewed before you go fully autonomous.
- A seat at the intersection of compliance and fraud: Your work directly feeds AFCU's transaction-monitoring investigations, broadening your view beyond onboarding.
➡️ Your future manager
You'll report to Guilhem Astoux, Head of Anti-Financial Crime Compliance for France. Guilhem built his background in regulatory compliance and internal control over 8+ years, including as Head of Compliance and Internal Control at Lyra Collect and Senior Consultant at KPMG, before leading Qonto's regulatory and AFCC teams. He's hands-on early on — expect shadowing and close support while you ramp up — then steps back once you're ready to decide on your own.
