About the Role

Our client is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to lead scalable backend development and cloud architecture. This role is ideal for an experienced DevOps engineer with some experience with backend development is preferred to ensure effective collaboration with development teams. Strong AWS knowledge, and a passion for building secure, high-performance systems that integrate seamlessly with modern DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Some exposure to FastAPI-based APIs, PostgreSQL databases, and event-driven tools such as Redis, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
• Infrastructure: Manage AWS architectures (VPC, ECS/EKS, Route 53, Cloudflare) and support multi-region deployments for high availability.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce HIPAA standards, manage IAM, implement secure authentication (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT), and apply Zero Trust principles.
• DevOps & Automation: Develop CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), define IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation, and automate containerized workloads.
• Monitoring & Reliability: Set up observability practices, log aggregation, distributed tracing, and multi-region monitoring with automated alerts.

• 5+ years of combined experience in infrastructure/DevOps.
• Basic hands-on experience with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and event-driven tools (Redis, RabbitMQ, or Kafka).
• Deep expertise in AWS services (VPC, EC2, IAM, RDS, S3, ALB, Route 53, API Gateway, ECS, EKS)
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization and production experience with technologies like Aurora and RDS
• Proficiency with message brokers (Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka) and async task management
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and container orchestration
• Experience with CI/CD tools, particularly GitHub Actions
• Strong knowledge of security best practices and HIPAA compliance requirements
• Proven experience with multi-region cloud deployments and disaster recovery
• Experience with observability tools and monitoring solutions
