Job Description
The In-house Legal Counsel position at Intellect is a key member of our operations, where you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive legal support to our commercial, sales, and partnerships teams to enable operational success and growth. Your primary focus will encompass drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and ensuring they are aligned with our strategic goals. Additionally, you will also be involved in providing general legal compliance advice to guide our operations within the framework of applicable laws and regulations as our company scales and grows.
Your Responsibilities:
- Providing legal advice and responding to queries relating to contracts and corporate matters, working closely with the business stakeholders to support RFPs/tenders/commercial deals and partnership documentations.
- Providing general legal advice in support of business activities, including drafting and reviewing a wide range of corporate, corporate restructuring, financing, new market entry, legal entity agreements.
- Work closely with operational teams (including clinical and product teams) on policies and best practices including terms of service, consent requirements, escalation protocols, privacy policies, data transfer.
- Good knowledge of both legal and regulatory risk associated with expansion markets and healthcare coverage (experience with startups or healthcare companies will be an advantage).
- Review, advise, structure and recommend legal solutions/advice/mitigations to existing/new products and services and solutions, ensuring adequate protections and compliance with firm’s policies.
- Liaise and coordinate with company secretary, external solicitors and other third-party advisors on various legal, corporate and/or litigation matters.
- Drive and lead fundraising legal negotiations, transactional close and follow up filling requirements.
- Conducting presentations, training and educating the business team members on legal review processes and procedures.
Requirements
- Candidate should be a commonwealth qualified lawyer for ideally English and Singapore law
- 3-6 years PQE either in a private practice or in house legal environment
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to demonstrate sound legal judgment. Having a positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Articulate, good drafting skills and highly effective in English
- Adaptable, flexible, pragmatic and solution-oriented, willing to work and collaborate with the business to address legal and regulatory challenges across markets
- Open to candidates from the Philippines (remote), Indonesia (remote) and Malaysia (hybrid).
