Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Need to reside in Wisconsin for this remote position. Must be able to attend on-site meetings and trainings approximately five times a year.

Summary

The Health Educator is responsible for promoting, maintaining, and improving individual and/or community health by assisting individuals and communities to adopt healthy behaviors that promote healthy living and prevent disease. This includes collecting and analyzing data to identify health needs, planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating health education designed to encourage healthy lifestyles, policies and environments.

Job Description

Assesses needs, assets, and capacity for health education. Plans, implements, and evaluates evidence based or promising practice health education. Conducts research related to health education, applies and reports finding as appropriate. Administers and manages health education programs including applicable resources. Obtains, develops, and disseminates health-related information using various modalities. Applies continuous quality improvement processes to improve health education. Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders. Communicates and advocates for health and health education. Incorporates adult learning principles and health education principles into health education. Develops operational plans and policies necessary to achieve health education goals and objectives.


This position will support our Substance Use Services team. The Substance Use Services team supports substance use coalitions through various grant projects.

    • Must reside in Wisconsin
    • Ability to attend on-site meetings and trainings approximately five times a year

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in Community Health, Health Education, Wellness, Health Promotion, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred in Community Health Education or Public Health.
Two (2) years of health education experience required. Experience with Microsoft Office products. Strong written and verbal skills. Five (5) plus years of health education experience preferred. Knowledge of quality improvement and performance management processes.
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.
