Join Spotify's Japan Growth team and help more listeners discover the value of Spotify Premium. As part of our Markets & Subscriptions organisation, you'll play a key role in growing our subscriber base in one of Spotify's most important markets.

Japan is Spotify's only single-country region, and we're entering an exciting new chapter focused on partnerships and sustainable growth. Working across marketing, product, data and commercial teams, you'll shape our growth strategy, turn customer insights into action and find new ways to connect Japanese listeners with Spotify Premium. You'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing your leadership responsibilities over time.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Lead Spotify's growth strategy in Japan, driving Premium subscriber acquisition, conversion, retention and revenue performance.

Own and deliver the Premium growth plan, identifying opportunities across the customer journey and translating them into measurable business outcomes.

Work closely with Marketing, Music and Partnerships leadership to shape growth priorities based on consumer insights, market trends and competitive dynamics.

Partner with our Partnerships team to unlock subscriber growth through telecommunications, device, payment and content partners.

Design and run experiments across paid, owned and in-app channels, using data and clear success metrics to improve conversion and retention.

Develop CRM and lifecycle marketing strategies across email, push notifications and in-app messaging, creating relevant experiences that engage and retain listeners.

Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Payments and Finance teams to build business cases, evaluate performance and identify scalable growth opportunities.

Lead and develop a team member, share learnings with regional Growth teams and explore how AI-powered tools can improve decision-making and execution.

Who You Are

You have experience driving growth in a digital consumer business, such as streaming, entertainment, e-commerce or consumer technology.

You have a track record of owning subscriber or commercial growth targets and understand how acquisition, conversion and retention contribute to sustainable growth.

You're experienced in digital marketing, CRM and lifecycle campaigns, with the ability to turn customer insights into meaningful action.

You're confident using data, analytics tools and experimentation to make decisions, evaluate performance and identify opportunities. Familiarity with SQL can help you go further.

You understand subscription business economics, including customer lifetime value, subscriber acquisition cost and gross margin.

You combine analytical thinking with creative marketing instincts and a strong understanding of Japanese consumer behaviour and culture.

You're comfortable collaborating across functions, influencing stakeholders and taking ownership of initiatives in a fast-moving environment.

You enjoy developing others, are curious about using AI to improve how you work, and communicate fluently in Japanese and confidently in business English.
