Acclaro is currently recruiting 2 experienced Freelance Legal Translators (English to Galician) to support an active client project.

This 100% remote freelance opportunity is ideal for legal linguists who combine exceptional Galician writing skills with strong legal terminology knowledge, thorough research capabilities, and an uncompromising commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.

As part of the project, you will translate and review legal content for Galician-speaking audiences while preserving the meaning, legal intent, terminology, register, and structure of the source material.

• Location: 100% remote
• Compensation: Paid freelance engagement. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's proposed rates and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Translate legal content accurately from English into Galician, preserving the meaning, legal intent, terminology, register, and structure of the source material.
• Apply client-specific glossaries, terminology databases, style guides, and project instructions.
• Review translations for accuracy, completeness, consistency, grammar, spelling, and appropriate legal register.
• Identify and raise questions about unclear, ambiguous, or potentially inconsistent source content.
• Collaborate with Acclaro’s Project Management and linguistic teams to resolve terminology and quality-related questions.
• Incorporate linguistic feedback and complete revisions when required.
• Communicate proactively regarding questions, availability, deadlines, and potential delivery risks.

• Native-language proficiency in Galician, with exceptional writing skills in your target language.
• Proven experience of 3 or more years in translation, preferably in a legal context.
• Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Galician legal terminology, formal register, and document conventions.
• Experience translating, editing, or reviewing legal content such as contracts, policies, terms and conditions, compliance materials, regulatory content, or similar documents.
• Strong legal, linguistic, and terminological research skills.
• Experience working with client glossaries, terminology resources, style guides, and quality requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to preserve legal meaning accurately.
• The ability to identify ambiguities, inconsistencies, and potential terminology risks in source or translated content.
• The ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with remote project teams.
