Job Description
Crypto.com is seeking a highly skilled Finance Trust Officer to help lead and oversee the financial operations of our US Crypto Trust business. This individual will play a critical role in managing the financial integrity, operational efficiency, and fiduciary responsibilities of the Trust structure that supports our digital asset and cryptocurrency custody services.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in trust and fiduciary accounting, combined with strong financial operations experience in the digital asset or traditional finance sector. This role bridges finance, compliance, and operations, ensuring the Trust’s activities meet all regulatory, accounting, and reporting obligations while maintaining operational excellence in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Requirements
- Experience working with or managing operations involving digital assets, crypto custody, or blockchain-based financial systems.
- 6+ years of experience in financial management, trust administration, or accounting, preferably within a regulated trust company, bank, digital asset company or financial institution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in trust accounting, fiduciary operations, or custody management.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliation processes, and financial reporting standards.
- Proven leadership ability with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with digital asset accounting software, blockchain reconciliation tools, or crypto custody platforms is preferred.
- Knowledge of U.S. trust regulatory frameworks, state-chartered trust company requirements, and crypto asset compliance standards is preferred.
- Experience in implementing or enhancing financial systems and internal control environments is preferred.
- CPA, CFA, CTP, or CTFA designation a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Strategic thinker who can operate at both executive and operational levels.
- Ability to manage complex workflows across finance, technology, and regulatory functions.
- High integrity, professional judgment, and commitment to fiduciary responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day trust financial operations including settlement, reconciliation, safekeeping, and transfer of client and proprietary assets.
- Ensure the Trust’s fiduciary and custodial obligations are met for all client accounts and assets held in custody.
- Collaborate with crypto operations, treasury, and compliance teams to support seamless transaction processing, liquidity management, and asset segregation.
- Oversee and optimize workflows for crypto transaction accounting, trust disbursements, and custodial asset reporting.
- Monitor and reconcile monthly Trust client invoice distribution and account receivables.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives focused on innovation, efficiency, and expansion of crypto trust services.
- Oversee financial operations and activities for the Trust, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard trust assets and ensure accurate valuation and reporting of digital assets.
- Partner with external auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders during financial and operational reviews.
- Collaborate closely with Treasury, Accounting, Legal, Risk, and Technology teams to enhance controls, automation, and scalability.
- Ensure full adherence to federal and state trust company regulations, including state banking department requirements.
- Partner with compliance and risk teams to ensure financial processes align with AML, KYC, and fiduciary oversight standards.
- Support the preparation of regulatory filings, audits, and board reports for the Trust entity.
