Fabrication Operations Manager

Location: Gallaway, TN
Job Type: Direct Hire
Starting Salary: From $80,000/year (Higher compensation available based on experience.)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Operations Manager to oversee daily operations across two nearby fabrication facilities operating on multiple shifts. This leadership role is responsible for production, safety, quality, scheduling, equipment maintenance, shipping performance, and continuous process improvement while managing production supervisors and supporting a growing workforce.

  • Oversee daily fabrication operations across multiple facilities and shifts.
  • Lead and support production supervisors and shop personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality requirements.
  • Manage production schedules to meet shipping and delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance and facility operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency.
  • Support hiring, employee development, retention, and performance management.
  • Assist with workforce planning, disciplinary actions, and succession planning.
  • Coordinate operations across receiving, inventory, CNC processing, fabrication, welding, paint, and shipping departments.
  • Manage multiple fabrication projects simultaneously while maintaining production goals.

  • Requirements

    Qualifications

  • 7+ years of structural steel fabrication experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 (CWI preferred but not required).
  • Experience working in an AISC-certified fabrication environment.
  • Experience managing large, heavy, and complex fabrication projects.
  • Knowledge of SSPC and ASTM coating requirements.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication operations, workflows, and production processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience overseeing multiple departments, including Receiving, Inventory, CNC Processing, Fabrication/Welding, Paint, and Shipping.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
