Job Description
About ClearEngine
ClearEngine is an operating partner to growth-stage consumer and technology companies, including DTC and ecommerce, healthcare, and consumer AI. We embed with leadership teams and build the growth engine across strategy, finance, marketing, operations, and talent. Our clients are executives, owners, and investors.
We work inside the business rather than advising from the outside. Companies bring us in to navigate complex situations, accelerate growth and profitability, and build systems the organization can run long after we step out. Our team is made up of operators with deep experience in the trenches, so we drive implementation alongside the client rather than handing off a plan. The approach is lean, grounded in the numbers, and biased toward execution.
ClearEngine's partners are based in Miami. The team operates remotely and is distributed across the U.S. and Latin America, with clients primarily in the U.S. and some internationally.
Role overview - Engagement Lead
We are looking for an Engagement Lead to run ClearEngine client engagements from strategy through execution. You will sit with leadership teams, lead the workstreams, do the analysis that drives the decisions, and be the day-to-day owner of the relationship alongside a ClearEngine partner. You think at the altitude of the whole business and are comfortable in the details. That combination is what ClearEngine is built on. The scope is wide by design, spanning finance, growth, operations, and org, and you will get exposure that takes ten years to accumulate anywhere else.
This role is based in LATAM and will work closely with clients and ClearEngine partners across the US and LATAM. You should be comfortable working in a remote environment, communicating directly with senior executives, and operating with a high degree of autonomy. Strong English communication is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Run engagements end to end. Own the workplan, the cadence, and the calls, from diagnosis and priorities through execution and handoff.
- Carry the client relationship. Be the day-to-day point of contact alongside a ClearEngine partner, including the harder conversations with senior leadership.
- Make the financial and strategic calls. Read the P&L and the budget, pressure-test the model, and set direction on pricing, positioning, and where the business should spend its next dollar.
- Turn abstract asks into decisions. Break a strategic direction into concrete actions, watch what happens in the market, and use those signals to refine the plan.
- Manage the team on both sides. Direct junior staff and specialists day to day, keep the partners informed and ahead of issues, and work through the client's team so what you build keeps running after the engagement ends.
Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant experience, including time in high-growth, dynamic, or otherwise demanding environments, whether inside operating companies or in consulting, finance, venture capital, private equity, or startups.
- Experience working directly with senior stakeholders, including owning a client relationship or working closely with founders, C-suite executives, or investors.
- Experience managing to a P&L, a budget, and a set of KPIs, with decision-making responsibility against the numbers rather than reporting on them.
- Operating and management experience, from the inside or the outside, with a track record of making decisions, acting on them, and owning the outcomes.
- Cross-functional experience, across areas such as finance, marketing, and operations, with real depth in at least one.
- Strong problem solving, strategic, and analytical thinking, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and develop a clear point of view supported by analysis.
- Management and delegation experience, including scoping work for others, briefing clearly, and holding the quality bar on work you did not produce yourself.
- Strong self-awareness and emotional intelligence, including the ability to challenge and be challenged, take feedback, and evolve your thinking.
- Strong communication skills in English, written and verbal, with experience working directly with U.S.-based founders, executives, or clients.
- Presentation skills and polish, with experience presenting to demanding clients and senior stakeholders.
What will set you apart
- Experience across both high-growth and structured environments, with the judgment to know when to build from scratch and when to work within an existing system.
- Strategic thinking paired with execution rigor, moving between diagnosing the problem, deciding what to do, and driving implementation, and precise about both the recommendation and the expected outcome.
- Highly self-directed and driven, with the instinct to see what needs to happen, take ownership, and keep pushing when the path is not obvious or the work gets difficult.
- A fast learner who metabolizes feedback, picking up new domains quickly and developing on the job rather than waiting to be taught.
- An exceptionally good communicator who builds rapport, internally with the team and externally with clients, and reads a room well.
