Electrical Field Service Engineer

Field Installation & Startup

• Install and support startup of electrical power distribution systems
• Assist with commissioning, system verification, and functional testing
• Configure and troubleshoot HMIs and control interfaces
• Verify equipment operation and compliance with applicable electrical codes and safety requirements

Electrical Troubleshooting

• Troubleshoot and repair 3-phase power systems, transformers, high-voltage components, switchgear, and distribution equipment
• Diagnose electrical issues using a systematic, root-cause approach
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and mechanical drawings
• Troubleshoot 24V, 120V, and 480V systems, including basic PLCs, fuses, breakers, and transformers

Customer & Team Support

• Act as the onsite technical point of contact
• Work with engineering and internal teams to resolve field issues
• Train equipment operators and maintenance personnel
• Communicate system conditions, findings, and recommended next steps clearly in person, by email, and through service reports

Service Documentation

• Prepare accurate and detailed service reports
• Record parts usage, labor hours, and service activities in the company system
• Identify recurring equipment issues and provide feedback for product and process improvements
• Assist with service procedures, technical documentation, training materials, and internal knowledge resources
• Perform other assigned duties as needed

Data center electrical or power infrastructure

Switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, RPPs, or similar equipment

Electrical commissioning or commissioning support

OSHA or other formal safety training

Dependable and technically minded problem solver

Comfortable working independently in field environments

Professional and composed when working with customers

Organized, detail-oriented, and accountable

Focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement

3–7+ years of experience in field service, electrical service, or a related position

Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities

Working knowledge of 24V, 120V, and 480V electrical systems

Basic PLC troubleshooting experience

Knowledge of fuses, breakers, and transformers

Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings

Willingness to travel 75%+, including occasional short-notice assignments

Valid driver's license

Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Strong documentation and attention-to-detail skills
