Electrical Engineer – Power Distribution

Location: Marietta, OH
Job Type: Direct Hire
Starting Salary: $80,000/year, with higher compensation available based on experience

Position Overview

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the design, testing, certification, and ongoing improvement of power distribution equipment. This role combines electrical design, hands-on troubleshooting, documentation, and product support.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems at the product level, including component selection, thermal design, mechanical packaging support, and interconnection hardware.
  • Apply knowledge of analog and digital circuits, magnetics, and thermal systems.
  • Develop engineering specifications for power protection systems.
  • Design switchboard power and control circuits.
  • Create and maintain BOMs, schematics, and other engineering documentation.
  • Support integration and qualification of third-party devices in power distribution equipment.
  • Participate in hardware design reviews and product robustness evaluations.
  • Prepare customer and manufacturing documentation, test procedures, and technical reports.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for new and existing power protection systems.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems and subsystems.
  • Support product safety certifications and work with NRTL organizations to meet UL, CSA, and IEC requirements.
  • Requirements

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD drafting software.
  • Experience designing power distribution equipment such as PDUs, STSs, RPPs, and switchboards.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering test equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems and power systems.
  • Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong laboratory, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
