The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Civil Field Engineer to join our Civil Engineering team.
In this role, you will support the construction, quality assurance, and execution of civil infrastructure projects, providing technical oversight and field engineering support for foundations, earthworks, and utility infrastructure from construction through project completion.

This is a field-based position with travel to project sites across Canada on a 20 days on, 8 days off rotation.
What You'll Do
- Provide field engineering support for civil construction projects, including foundations, earthworks, grading, drainage, and access roads
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and construction documents to support project execution
- Perform field inspections, quality assurance, and quality control (QA/QC) activities throughout construction
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Conduct or oversee field soil testing, compaction testing, and other construction quality verification activities
- Monitor construction progress while identifying and resolving technical issues in the field
- Collect, document, and report field observations, test results, and project data
- Promote and maintain compliance with corporate, client, and industry health, safety, and environmental requirements
- Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities
- Travel extensively to project sites while working safely in remote and outdoor environments
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada
- 5+ years of field experience in civil construction, utilities, energy, or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of civil construction practices, including earthworks, foundations, grading, drainage, and access road construction
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and construction documentation
- Experience with field QA/QC processes, soil testing, compaction testing, and construction inspection
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with experience towing trailers
- Experience with laboratory and field soil testing, asphalt and aggregate testing, electrical resistivity, ASTM/CSA testing, or transmission and substation projects is considered an asset
