Job Description
This is a hands-on outbound sales role with a strong emphasis on cold calling. You’ll be the first point of contact with healthcare providers, driving pipeline growth and opening doors for our founder. This role is ideal for someone eager to own outbound prospecting, work independently, and grow into running their own sales cycle in a fast-moving startup environment.
The Business Development Representative will be primarily responsible for all activities related to generating new leads and closing new sales opportunities. The candidate will have an opportunity to make an immediate impact on day one by learning our systems and processes and customizing them for their own success. The starting rate for this role is 6 USD per hour.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead with cold calling; supplement with emails, texts, LinkedIn, and other outreach channels
- Research and identify 3–5 decision-makers per target account using Apollo, LinkedIn, and company websites
- Log and track all outreach in HubSpot CRM; maintain clean and updated records
- Book discovery calls for the founder; opportunity to eventually run your own Zoom discovery meetings and manage the full sales cycle
- Follow up with leads consistently and at agreed-upon cadences
- Support founder with follow-ups for warm prospects down the line
- Communicate proactively: ask clarifying questions and respond promptly to calls/texts
- Work independently and figure things out with limited training/support
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication (non-negotiable)
- Prior sales experience (strongly preferred)
- Healthcare familiarity (preferred)
- Tech-savvy, proactive, persistent, and personable
- Able to work independently with limited supervision/training
- High integrity and professionalism
- Reliable remote setup: computer, headset, quiet workspace, stable internet
Minimum Technical and Work Environment Requirements:
- Internet Connection:
- Primary internet connection with a minimum speed of 15 Mbps.
- Backup internet connection with at least 10 Mbps.
- Backup connection must be capable of supporting work during a power outage.
- Primary Device:
- Desktop or laptop equipped with at least:
- Intel Core i5 (8th generation or newer), Intel Core i3 (10th generation or newer), AMD Ryzen 5, or an equivalent processor.
- A minimum of 8 GB RAM.
- Backup Device:
- Must meet or exceed the performance of an Intel Core i3 processor.
- Must be functional during power interruptions.
- A functioning webcam.
- A noise-canceling USB headset.
- A quiet, dedicated home office space.
- Peripherals and Workspace: A smartphone for communication and verification purposes.
