Job Description:

The Business Development Associate will support key initiatives by identifying and pursuing new opportunities and preparing proposals, client communications and presentations. This role involves maintaining business development pipelines using CRM tools such as Salesforce, as well as providing organisational support through meeting coordination, scheduling and office administration.

You will assist with preparing documents, reports and correspondence for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accurate data entry and records management. You will also support the company’s presence at trade shows, conferences and client events through event planning, set-up and follow-up activities. The role includes coordinating domestic and international travel for team members and collaborating effectively using Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across federal, state and territory government departments, agencies and regulatory authorities.
  • Monitor and interpret government policies, regulations and initiatives relevant to the organisation’s operations.
  • Support the alignment of company objectives with relevant Australian government priorities such as the NDS, IIP, and DIDS and economic development initiatives.
  • Coordinate applications for approvals, licences and other regulatory requirements with relevant government bodies.
  • Represent the organisation at official meetings, forums and industry events involving government stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic advice to leadership on navigating Australia’s regulatory and policy landscape.
  • Act as a key point of contact for business development initiatives, ensuring smooth coordination between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Requirements

    Required qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in business development, sales support or office coordination.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM and business development tools is desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing tasks and priorities.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for events and business development activities.
