Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support a short-term, project-based assignment. This role involves a mix of bookkeeping and data entry tasks, including payroll and tax-related inputs, and is ideal for someone comfortable with cloud-based systems and financial data management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the primary accountant with daily bookkeeping and transaction categorization
  • Perform data entry related to tax prep, payroll, and accounting up to the first-level review stage
  • Support bank reconciliation and general ledger updates
  • Enter financial transactions in QuickBooks Online under supervision
  • Maintain organized electronic records and digital filing systems
  • Collaborate with the Team Lead, Manager, and Accountant to document workflows and contribute to the development of standardized procedures (e.g., continuity binder)
  • Provide regular task updates and coordinate effectively with the accounting team

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or certificate in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience using QuickBooks Online
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and processes
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Excel/Word, and cloud-based tools (e.g., Canopy Tax)
  • Stable internet connection and a professional remote work environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
