Role Overview

As an Automation QA Engineer, you’ll ensure that every release is reliable, scalable, and user-friendly. This role suits someone who thrives on analytical problem-solving, creative thinking, and testing products from a real user’s perspective. You’ll design and run automation frameworks, apply AI tools for testing, and work cross-functionally to maintain product excellence.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Automation Development (50%)

  • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using tools like Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Tosca, or Katalon
  • Conduct end-to-end testing across web, database, and API layers

2. AI-Driven Testing & Optimization (20%)

  • Use AI tools to optimize QA processes and speed up testing cycles
  • Apply user-centric testing approaches to identify real-world edge cases and usability gaps

3. Collaboration & Quality Improvement (20%)

  • Collaborate with developers to debug issues, verify fixes, and improve release quality
  • Suggest process improvements and contribute to a culture of product reliability and excellence

4. Documentation & Reporting (10%)

  • Analyze testing results, maintain documentation, and continuously improve automation coverage

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in QA automation or software testing
  • Strong understanding of automation testing tools (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Tosca, or Katalon)
  • Familiarity with AI tools for product QA and workflow automation
  • Proficiency in database testing and API validation
  • Excellent logical reasoning, problem-solving, and attention to detail
  • Ability to think both critically and creatively, seeing from both technical and user perspectives
  • Fast learner with adaptability to evolving tools and testing environments

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in performance or load testing
  • Exposure to DevOps pipelines and CI/CD integrations
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, Python, or similar scripting languages
  • Understanding of UX testing principles or accessibility standards

Tools Proficiency:

  • Automation: Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Tosca, Katalon
  • API Testing: Postman, REST Assured, Swagger
  • Database: MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
  • Version Control & CI/CD: Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar
  • AI & Automation Enhancements: ChatGPT, Testim, or similar AI-assisted QA tools

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience in performance or load testing (e.g., JMeter, Locust)
  • Exposure to DevOps pipelines and CI/CD integrations
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, Python, or similar scripting languages
  • Understanding of UX testing principles or accessibility standards
