Job Description
The Role
We're looking for an Associate Director, Paid Social to provide hands-on strategic and tactical leadership across a portfolio of client accounts, with a strong focus on coaching and quality control for more junior team members' day-to-day work. This role is grounded in deep paid social expertise while contributing to Wpromote's evolution toward an integrated paid media team, where paid social strategy connects closely with paid search, creative, analytics, and programmatic to drive full-funnel outcomes for clients.
This role does not carry formal people-management responsibilities. Instead, you'll be the go-to resource junior team members turn to for account guidance, campaign audits, and executive-ready storytelling, ensuring quality and consistency across the accounts you support. You'll also help evolve paid social best practices, QA processes, and AI-enabled workflows that make the team faster, sharper, and more scalable.
You Will Be
- Providing day-to-day account oversight and quality control across a portfolio of paid social accounts, ensuring strategy, execution, and reporting meet Wpromote's standards
- Coaching and guiding account managers and other junior team members in real time on platform execution, campaign strategy, testing, reporting, and client communication.
- Managing a small book of enterprise-level clients directly, serving as a senior strategic partner and staying close to the evolving paid social landscape
- Staying hands-on in advertising platforms and stepping in “on the keys” to audit, troubleshoot, launch, optimize, or stabilize campaigns when accounts need it
- Overseeing the onboarding of new accounts, ensuring a smooth ramp-up and account setup within junior team members' books of business
- Interfacing directly with clients on complex or escalated needs; collecting feedback, articulating value, presenting strategy, and strengthening relationships
- Developing a full-funnel paid social point of view across awareness, consideration, conversion, retention, and creative testing, and translating it into practical guidance for account teams
- Partnering with paid search, client strategy, creative, analytics, and programmatic teams to ensure paid social strategy is integrated into broader media planning as Wpromote's paid media offering evolves
- Helping evolve paid social best practices, QA processes, campaign workflows, reporting automation, and adoption of AI-enabled tools and workflows across the department
- Maintaining and refining knowledge management infrastructure — training materials, onboarding resources, and process documentation for the paid social team
- Leading social-related trainings and internal discussions, and participating in internal or public speaking opportunities
- Identifying critical client or account issues and escalating them to Directors or other leadership in a timely, solutions-oriented way
- Assisting the sales team on audits, decks, and pitches for prospective clients
You Must Have
- 4–6 years of experience in paid media, with deep hands-on expertise in paid social strategy, buying, optimization, and measurement, within an agency and/or in-house environment
- Strong hands-on experience across Meta and TikTok, with additional experience across platforms such as Pinterest, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Reddit, and/or X
- Both performance marketing and brand planning experience
- Full-funnel paid social experience across awareness, consideration, conversion, retention, and creative testing
- Experience coaching, training, or informally mentoring junior team members on account strategy and execution.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar
- Experience creating paid social customer acquisition campaigns across a diverse range of clients and verticals (ecommerce/retail and lead gen preferred)
- Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify and respond to situations quickly
- Strong working knowledge of Google Suite, Excel, Google Slides, Asana, or similar tools
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Business Management, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
Nice To Have
- Experience with Smartly, Sprinklr or other AI-enabled advertising, automation, reporting, or ad operations tools
- Working knowledge of paid search and how paid social fits within broader cross-channel media planning
- Familiarity with additional media channels such as programmatic, retail media, influencer, lifecycle/email, or SEO
- Working knowledge of advanced measurement approaches such as incrementality testing, brand lift, or conversion lift
- Experience contributing to new business pitches, strategic audits, or account growth planning
- Prior agency experience in an AOR-style model or with integrated, cross-functional client teams
