Job Description

Accounting Manager

Overview of the Position

Otte Polo Group is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead the financial backbone of our growing multi-brand organization. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on structure, accountability, and continuous improvement — a leader who can rebuild processes “back to the basics,” ensure accurate financial reporting, and drive the team toward operational excellence.

The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring financial accuracy, reliability, and compliance across our U.S.-based entities. The role focuses on creating strong routines for reconciliations, reporting, and month-end closings while developing a high-performing, dependable finance team. This is not a role for someone who only reviews reports — it’s for a leader who takes ownership, brings ideas to execution, and ensures things get done.

The position also plays a key role in modernizing the department by streamlining workflows, implementing automation tools (including AI-driven improvements), and creating efficient, repeatable processes that save time and enhance accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the accounting team across different countries, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and reliability.
  • Own the accounting operations — from daily reconciliations to monthly closings — ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Establish structured routines for reporting, reconciliation, and audit preparation that strengthen consistency and trust in financial data.
  • Rebuild processes and bring the department “back to basics,” emphasizing clarity, transparency, and disciplined execution.
  • Drive automation and efficiency, implementing tools and AI-based solutions that reduce manual workload and turnaround time.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting principles and company policies across all entities.
  • Develop and coach team members, providing guidance, structure, and feedback to support their professional growth.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accurate reflection of company performance.
  • Monitor cash flow, forecasts, and budgets to maintain strong financial health and informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, Operations, Sales, Payroll, and Leadership) to ensure alignment and seamless data flow.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure compliance and readiness for audits and filings.

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
    • At least 3 years of experience in accounting, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
    • Proven track record of building or restructuring accounting departments.
    • Experience with QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel/Google Sheets required; familiarity with automation tools or AI applications is a strong plus.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy under tight deadlines.
    • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead remote, multicultural teams.
    • Experience with U.S. entities and accounting standards is essential.
