Accountant for Cannabis Brand (US-Based/Remote)

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring seamless bookkeeping processes.
• Post daily transactions in QuickBooks Online.
• Process invoices, receipts, purchase orders, accounts payable/receivable, and supplier/vendor payments.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger monthly.
• Reconcile company credit card statements monthly.
• Prepare financial data and reports using Excel and Fathom.
• Extract and compile expense submissions via Dext.
• Support payroll activities, issue refunds, and supplier payments.
• Identify and correct errors or discrepancies, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
• Assist with audit preparation and reporting as needed.

• Minimum 5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in a remote environment or the cannabis industry.
• Post-secondary education in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Strong Excel skills: pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
• Experience with Fathom (or comparable financial reporting platforms).
• Comfortable using Dext or similar receipt-processing tools.
• Solid understanding of AP, AR, reconciliation, general ledger, and financial compliance.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving acumen.
• Excellent communication and organization skills
