Title: 2nd shift CNC Machine Operator
Location: York, PA
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Rate: 23.00/Hour
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
- 2+ years of CNC machine operation in a structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings.
- Skilled in using precision measurement tools.
- Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines such as plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines to process structural steel components.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine job specifications.
- Load and secure steel beams, plates, and other materials using overhead cranes and rigging equipment.
- Monitor machine operation, making adjustments for accuracy and quality as needed.
- Use precision measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares to verify tolerances.
- Perform basic programming edits or adjustments to accommodate different material sizes or thicknesses.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery to ensure reliable operation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA and shop safety protocols.
